Focus on Sports Betting:
 Expectations, Reality and Lessons Learned to be
Key Panel Discussion at NCLGS Austin Meeting

AUSTIN, TEXAS: A panel of legislators and sports betting leaders will convene at the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) Winter Meeting, this December 12 – 14 at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas.
 
Since the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in May 2018 to overturn PASPA, numerous states have adopted sports betting based on their own fiscal and economic expectations.
 
Discussions by the panel will include answering questions such as:
 
  • What were those expectations?
 
  • Were they met? If not, why?
 
  • What could have been done differently?
 
  • Are there lessons learned from the adoption of sports betting and igaming that others need to consider?
 
NCLGS Vice President Shawn Fluharty, Delegate from West Virginia, will serve as the panel moderator with presenters including:
